BDL completes Dean Farm acquisition
Buckland Development Limited (BDL) has now completed its acquisition of Dean Farm via a newly-incorporated company – Welborne Land Ltd. This means that 96% of the land identified for the new 6,000 home Garden Village of Welborne is now under common control.
Mark Thistlethwayte, Principal of Buckland Development Limited, commented:
“After months of hard work from our team, I am pleased to confirm the formal completion of our acquisition of Dean Farm. Bringing this land into a single, common ownership is another hugely important milestone in our endeavour to deliver Welborne, giving even greater certainty and clarity on the deliverability of the new community.
“Our vision for Welborne as a sustainable, exemplary Garden Village has been a constant from the beginning of our masterplanning process through to the submission of our Outline Planning Application in March this year. With us now in direct control of the majority of land required to deliver the new community, it means we are in a fantastic position to make this vision a reality for future generations.”
BDL has been committed to developing its vision for Welborne over the past 10 years.
The High Court ordered Dean Farm to be sold on the open market in February and by July BDL announced it had exchanged contracts on the site, having prevailed over a number of other bidders.
